Three piece cane insert lounge suite from the workshops of Captain Francis De Groot of Sydney Harbour bridge fame. Captan De Groot arrive in Sydney from Ireland in 1920 and started a furniture manufacturing business in Sydney's Rushcutter Bay. At some stage he reputedly employed 200 artisans making superior quality reproduction furniture for the Sydney elite.  He was responsible for the refurbishment of David Jones stores at that time.
