As our Team Leader, you have the overall responsibility for the operational dealings with some of our clients as well as managing our associated project teams. This includes making sure that adequate staff and other resources are available so that all required activities are performed to client and company expectations within appropriate timeframes. You will also have the responsibility of ensuring that your team has the appropriate skills and competencies to succeed in their roles and meet expectations. You will achieve this through coaching and providing regular feedback to your staff as well as carrying out training needs analysis and developing training plans accordingly.
To succeed in this role you must have:
Tertiary qualifications in Geology or similar related disciplines
Knowledge of geological concepts and principles
Supervisory/Managerial experience
Ability to self-manage in remote locations without direct supervision
High level planning and project management skill
Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and staff
Current manual drivers licence
Good computer literacy
Good physical fitness
A flexible attitude to work
You will also place a strong emphasis on OH&S, environmental and quality principles. As we work on drill and mine sites we have a strict zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol.
Our work takes us to remote locations working 12 hour shifts – normally a week of days, followed by a week of nights. This 2 week on/ 1 week off roster requires 14 days on a client site plus travel time either side.
This role is primarily Hunter Valley based with associated field work.
