Firstly, a little about me and the bike…
I am 30 year old woman, I’ve been riding on and off-road since I was 19, I’ve owned a handful of bikes, this being my third. I’m now solidly hooked on motorcycles and am finally taking the big step up to an 850cc.
She (my Babyblade), entered the country in 2003 and is compliance plated accordingly. Imported and purchased through Sumoto in Melbourne, then moved immediately to Alice Springs to live with a good friend of mine. I bought it from him 12 months after that. In the time since, she has always been garaged and covered, went into semi-retirement for 18 months whilst I was traveling overseas and has been regularly serviced at time intervals rather than by kms. It has simply been my weekend toy, never taken to track days, never ridden in the rain and never used as a commuter, thus the genuine low kms and great condition.
It is a clean, reliable, straight riding bike. I’ve seen many examples of this model, and none come close to the condition of this one. I have recently been over it and repaired or replaced anything that needed attention. I take my safety very seriously and have never left anything to chance, and I hope you’re the same. I am selling my bike in good faith, naturally once it is yours, I would recommend you take all the same precautions as I would with any new vehicle. Get to know it, read the manual and for your own peace of mind, have it checked over by a mechanic. I have a copy of the full service manual in .pdf format, I can burn it to a disc or email it to you, whichever suits. It is an invaluable piece of information, read it!
Yes it is a 250cc, but for a learner (or even an experienced rider) it really has power to burn. Most importantly it’s a stack of fun to ride, it’s light and manoeuvrable (great for learning your cornering skills), it’s super responsive and has great acceleration. It sounds and looks great for it’s class, and yes, it still turns heads, which never fails to self-gratify ;)

My advice…
Talk to as many people as you can, don’t be intimidated if it’s all new to you. There are more than enough sales people who will try to confuse you, if they even talk to you at all. And ladies, your money is the same colour as everyone else’s, if a dealership or workshop isn’t giving you the respect you deserve, go elsewhere. True motorcycle enthusiasts will not do this too you, just keep looking.
The more information you are armed with the easier the process becomes. The more of us there are the road, the more ‘visible’ we will all become… Everyone kicks a goal! Get involved, we have just as much right to be on the road as cars, so speak up and spread the love.
Research, research, research… Practice, practice, practice!
Happy and safe motorcycling to you all.
Kind Regards
Liz
